New Hair

A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to brave the hair salon and make an appointment.

Well, I was walking past one when a cute chap was stood outside, so I decided to go in and try to make an appointment. I made one for the next day.

I have to say it was the best hair salon experience I have ever had. I got about three massages, a couple of head massages and a good cut. She cut it the way I wanted. They used four products (two washes) on my hair when they washed it. The smells were great.

The ladies had little if no English, which went well with my equally good Chinese. haha. But we managed and it was great. I was in there for about an hour and a half and it only cost me about £8. I love Taiwan :)

Painting, painting and more painting

So Dave and I decided we wanted to paint the main wall in the living room. The landlady said it was fine, as long as we painted it back to white when we move out.
Ordering the paint was easy, Kyle (a friend of Dave's) told us where we could find a paint shop. We ordered the colour we wanted 'Pizzaz' and gave a my number for her to call later when it was ready to pick up. She took the number down wrong, so I collected it the next day.

We did two coats with a roller. We did the first together, Dave did the second. Then after staring at the wall and not being impressed with the quality of painting a wall with a roller, I did a third coat with a brush.

Here is how it went.

The all important test patch.

The first coat

I now understand why mum is so vehement that rollers are of the devil. lol.

It looks a lot more orange in the picture than it actually is. The final result :)

Jhunan Beach

When Chien was back for a brief visit sorting her working visa for South Korea we headed to Jhunan beach one Saturday. It was great! It was amazing swimming in the sea. It was an overcast day so it was actually a bit chilly but the water was lovely and warm.

And I saw a flying fish!! :D So cool. haha.

Sun Moon Lake

A few weeks ago...probably a month now, I went to Changhua for the usual Saturday meet with the folks there. I crashed at my friends Anthony's- a glorious friend who lets me crash at his when needed. On Sunday we decided that we (a group) should do a road trip to Sun Moon Lake. Matt, Lynn, Lisa, Anthony and I drove there. It wasn't a gloriously sunny day which was nice. In fact it was a bit drizzly, all the better methinks. The humidity at Sun Moon means you usually don't get to see much of the scenery but rain clears it out. The views were spectacular!

Unfortunately, I had left my camera in Taichung. Bu hao (not good). Lisa and Anthony took a few pictures, so I'm hoping to pinch those. :D I'll add them to this post.

Pictures pinched, here they are :)

Us, absolutely soaked from driving in the rain. But we made it to Sun Moon. Yay! Matt, Lisa (blond lass) Lynn (Matt's other half) and myself.

Quick update

All moved in to my new place. I don't have the internet yet...but it is on the to do list :)

The apartment is great. I have to get organised and put things away but I have been busy with work and other things. I was meant to have this evening off but I was called into work because a co-worker is sick and I had to cover his class.

Selfishly I hope he is better tomorrow as I need the time to get stuff done before my schedule gets hectic next week.

Well, i'm currently stealing Geoff's computer to check e-mails etc, so I should stop being rude and talk to my good friends then head home to sleep.

Much love

Moving day!

Today, with the help of my awesome friend Minerva, I am moving to Taichung. I have a lot more stuff than I thought. That is usual for me though. Haha. It if a four floor walk up to my apartment, so moving the stuff in will be tiring. Eek.

Then after that we are headed to a bbq at Richard's place, he is the other NST who is leaving Nantou branch. He has been there 4 years and is returning to the UK to do some course on something. I have found it so difficult saying goodbye to the kids, I have had to have a few moments alone to stop myself from crying. I have no idea how it must be for Richard.

Anyhoo, I have to finish off my packing. Again, Gillibean leaves it to the last minute.
